Hi Redskins Fans,
My name is Susan, and I’m thrilled to be back for a third season with the WRC and honored to serve as a Captain this year! After celebrating the Redskins 80th and the First Ladies’ “golden” 50th anniversaries last year, I realize I have a long line of tradition to uphold, but I think I’m ready for the challenge. Of course, I couldn’t do it without all of my friends, family and most importantly, fans like YOU! I cannot thank you enough for all of your continued support.
So for a little about me… I am originally from Pittsburgh, PA and have been dancing for as long as I can remember. I’ve trained in all styles – ballet, jazz, contemporary, tap, you name it. My love of performing and my competitive spirit led me to four years with the Penn State University Lionettes Dance Team (currently the 2013 NDA National Champions!) where I also earned my B.A. in Communications and a Minor in Business Administration. After moving to DC post-graduation, I began training and performing with Capitol Movement Dance Company (CMI), whose mission is to build better lives through dance here in the DMV.

Since the moment I arrived in DC, I dreamed of joining the First Ladies of Football, but I must say that the experiences I’ve had across these past several years have exceeded all expectations. From traveling the world for our annual calendar shoots and Military Appreciation Tours, participating in community outreach events around the District, to dancing alongside 39 of my best friends and feeling the energy and excitement of 90,000 fans at FedexField, I have loved every minute.
Last year I was fortunate enough to represent the team on two Military Appreciation Tours throughout the Middle East and Southeast Asia - visiting five new countries, including Kuwait, UAE, Oman, Qatar, and most recently Tokyo, Japan, to cheer on Super Bowl XLVII. These trips were life-changing, to say the least, and allowed me to meet thousands of inspiring service men and women, tour Black Hawk helicopters, suit up in full flight and bomb squad gear, and immerse myself in new cultures. I am forever humbled by and grateful for the service and sacrifices that our U.S. Armed Forces continue to make for our country.
When I’m not on the sidelines at FedExField, I work as a full-time sales manager at a consulting firm, where I have an opportunity to interact with, and advise, some of the world’s brightest business executives. Outside of the office, I enjoy trying new restaurants, live music, reading, and any activity that gets me outside – running, tennis, skiing, and of course the occasional shopping trip around Georgetown!
Well, now that you know a little bit about me, I’ll be looking forward to meeting all of you on game day to cheer our Skins onto a repeat NFC East Championship… and then onto the Super Bowl!
