Hello to all you amazing Redskins fans!!

It’s Maya here, and I am so stoked to not only be back for another season but to be a WRC Captain as well.  I’m not your typical cheerleader! I’m really just a country girl at heart with wanderlust, insomnia, and occasional artistic tendencies. Some of my hobbies include (but are not limited to) target shooting, archery, playing the ukulele, and painting! I try to live my life like the Spartans in the movie “300” – rigorously self-disciplined and courageous in the face of pain, danger, or adversity.  When I’m not partaking in these hobbies or being Spartan-like, I am fulfilling my love of cooking! One of my favorite things to do is bake protein bars from scratch.  Want to try them? Don’t worry, having my own protein bakery is #18 on my to-do list.

Hello to all you amazing Redskins fans!!

So one of the most popular questions I get asked is, “what else do you do besides cheer?” Well, I graduated from George Mason University with a degree in Communication and a concentration in Public Relations.  I currently work as a PR consultant and a Market Research Analyst.  This year I will be launching my own PR Firm called iCommunicate - a captivating and sharp-witted approach to modern media. So if you’re looking to create a unique awareness for your brand… I’m your go-to girl!

One of my favorite moments of being a cheerleader would be partaking in Military Appreciation tours! I’ve had the privilege of traveling to over eight countries throughout Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.  They were unbelievably heart-warming experiences.  I want to thank all the men and women who fight for our country! I cannot express my gratitude enough. It’s not easy being away from family for so long and I am incredibly grateful that we were able to bring a little piece of home to the troops.

None of this would be possible without three things: God, family, and my best friend. So before I write off, I would just like to extend my gratitude to all those who have impacted my life. I thank God for letting me see another day, my family for pushing me to follow my dreams, and of course my biggest support and best friend Bobby B. for doing such a great job at handling this Asian fireball.

Lastly, thank YOU Redskins fans for making my cheer profession so enjoyable.

See you on the sidelines and Hail to Our Redskins!!!!
