Hey Redskins Fans!
First off, I want to say I am so incredibly honored to be a Washington Redskins Cheerleader for the 2012-2013 season! With this year being the 50th anniversary of the First Ladies of Football, I have no doubts my rookie year will be one to remember!
As I am just recently falling in love with dance, I wanted to tell all of you how I got here. Growing up, I started out in gymnastics where I was a ham on the floor but scared to death of the balance beam – so that ended quickly. For the rest of my grade school years I turned to competitive figure skating, thanks to my Dad who, when I was 8, took me to Stars on Ice where I saw Kristi Yamaguchi and was hooked. Finally, in college I was recruited for the cheerleading tryouts and walked onto the team as a flyer even though I’d never stunted a day in my life. Ohh it wasn’t pretty at first, but by the end of my first year I received the honor for “most improved” and was awarded an athletic scholarship for the duration of my tenure.

Throughout my life, I’ve learned to always wholeheartedly chase after the things you are passionate about and even though it can be intimidating doing something you’ve never done before, a combination of hard work, faith and determination can get you anywhere you want to be.
It took me a while to decide on a career path in college, but after two years of business and accounting classes at the College of Charleston, I transferred to Savannah College of Art and Design where I earned my B.F.A in Advertising Design in 2010. I currently work as a designer at a worldwide communications firm in DC. This past spring, my work was featured in The Heart Truth’s 2012 Red Dress Collection Fashion Show and I was lucky enough to travel to New York Fashion Week to see the event – it was so much fun!
Aside from sports and art, I love experimenting in the kitchen, being outdoors, and I’ll find absolutely any excuse to travel. Between studying abroad in Australia and backpacking through Central America, Europe, and Northern Africa, I’ve seen some insanely beautiful places and I just want to see more!
There are no words to express how excited and blessed I feel to be a part of this team and I am set on not taking a single moment of this experience for granted! I am so happy I have the opportunity to live my dream as a professional cheerleader and I’m looking forward to being on the field and performing for the best fans in the NFL – all 90,000 of you!
To my friends and family, thank you for always being there with your never-ending love and support, especially my Mom for keeping me grounded. Without your constant positivity and encouragement I wouldn’t be here today!
To the Fans, I expect to see each and every one of you at FedEx on game days! See you on the sidelines!
Hail to the Redskins!!
Cheers,
