Greetings again Redskins Nation!
I am thrilled and honored to be back for my 3rd year as a Washington Redskins Cheerleader! They say “Time flies when you’re having fun!” and the past two years have been a direct reflection of just that.
A little background about me: I’m originally from Houston, Texas but moved to the DC area in 2003 to attend Howard University. After graduating, I decided I wasn’t ready to head back home so I stuck around and I haven’t looked back since (except when I’m missing some of my dad’s good barbeque).
Aside from being a Cheerleader, I wear many other hats. When I’m not practicing choreography, I work full-time as Meetings & Conference Planner at a non-profit which focuses on increasing academic achievement in low-income and minority students through education reform. Most people who know me well know that I’m very passionate about youth development and education. Once a week, as a volunteer of the Higher Achievement Mentoring Program, I spend a few hours with three of the greatest sixth-graders in DC Public Schools – Antonio, Janae and Chris. We discuss everything from how to create charts and graphs using Microsoft Excel to who’s the better team between the Redskins and the Steelers. Chris erroneously believes it’s the latter but don’t worry, I’m still schooling him.

When I’m not planning a meeting for work or tutoring my mentees for purpose, my head is usually buried in a sea of wedding photos. That’s right – I love weddings! But I’m not just a girl that gets teary-eyed at every bride’s grand entrance; I turned my love of weddings into a hobby and launched a wedding blog website at YesWeWed.com. Check it out if you’re a lover of weddings like me!
Being a Redskins Cheerleader has truly been one of the greatest experiences of my life and I wouldn’t change it for the world. It has allowed me to gain friendships, experiences and memories that I know will last a lifetime. I look forward to another exciting year. See you on the sidelines!
HAIL!
