Hello and Hajimemashite (nice to see you) Redskins Fans!

I am Azusa and I am extremely excited for my rookie season as Washington Redskins Cheerleader. I moved to Washington D.C. from Tokyo, Japan in March to become a Redskins Cheerleader. Before then, I worked for seven years as an overseas sales representative at one of Japan’s electric manufactures. Luckily, I was chosen as a 1st Lady of Football this season and I am super thrilled to start up my brand-new life here in D.C.

Being a Redskins Cheerleader was my dream. The Redskins Cheerleaders are a group of well-rounded super-women. Our attractive dance style is my favorite. I love that all of my teammates are independent and strong woman. I respect their diverse professional careers with all of my heart and soul and I’m so honored to be one of them this year.

Back in Tokyo I was a cheerleader for four years for one of the American Football teams in Japan, IBM BigBlue. Did you know there is American Football league in Japan?! Isn’t that amazing?! Cheerleading brought me so many things; life-long friends, confidence, passion towards dancing, and it helped me to reach my goal of cheering for the NFL in America!

I love traveling. I have been to more than 10 countries! As an overseas sales representative at my former job, I traveled around Europe; everywhere from Italy, Germany, the U.K., and all the way to Switzerland! The most interesting place I have ever been is Uganda! I visited my best friend, a volunteer worker who improves hygiene situations in Uganda. While on a safari, I encountered wild animals like elephants, lion, zebras and hippopotamus’! I felt connected to nature. I also visited a village that had no running water or electricity, yet the smiles on the faces of the children in Uganda will never leave my memory.

I can’t to wait to spend the season cheering for Redskins with the best and the most enthusiastic fans in the NFL!!!

Arigatou, HTTR!!
